Project Description

A portal migration project

Our customer is an European Agency who wants to migrate its current content management system to an Open Source technology, redesign the front end for private and public users, and host the solution along the duration of the contract. In this context MainStrat orchestrates a consortium of companies that are experts in different knowledge fields:

One company that carries out the migration to the new open source technology and develops new features, a group of designers who design and implement the User Experience, and a company that hosts several environments (testing, pre-production and production) under a specific Service Level Agreement (SLA).

MainStrat’s Project Manager sets up the communication channels for the consortium, including the creation and configuration of specific JIRA and Confluence instances. The latter is used as a Knowlege repository for the consortium, and the former as a requirements, risks and issue management system, being equally used by the consortium members and our customer.

MainStrat’s Project Manager establishes the methodology for the requirements gathering, leads the requirements gathering sessions and verifies the completeness and correctness of the requirements collection. He or she leads the development and testing teams to ensure the achievement of the delivery deadlines within the expected quality. He or she, supported by a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, also monitors the whole process in order to assure the fulfilment of the quality standards and the SLA. Furthermore, the Project Manager periodically reports the advances of the project to the customer via Management Reports and follow-up meetings. He or she is also responsible for analysing every request or incident coming from our customer and determine a specific action.
